Can any of you tell if there are plans to have the new 4-State USPS barcode built into Planet Press? The font is available, just want to know if we have to purchase it or will it be in a near future release.

They are running PrintForm from FirstLogic for CAS certification as well. Don't know if that makes a difference. Reading on the font there are more than one format of the font map.

GOD I LOVE fonts!

Thanks
Rick

Hello Harter,

Yes, we are currently working on implementing the new OneCode Solution barcode from the USPS. It will be made available before the end of the year as part of one of our maintenance releases.

The font itself is not problematic as it is simply a standard four-state font, already in use in many other parts of the world. However, the encoding of the information contained in the barcode is challenging to implement. The person who came up with that specification for the USPS can only be qualified as highly creative... :p

Nevertheless, we've managed to figure it out and we are working on implementing it both in printer-centric mode and in run-locally mode.

Hope that answers your question,
