Newbie question!

I have a preprinted form that is 4 cards on 1 sheet. I need to set up the data so that the first 1/4 of the data file prints on the first card on the page, the 2nd 1/4 of the file prints on the second card on the page, etc.

What is the best way to set up the data and form to do this?

C Frost,

For the form, you will need to use an N-Up object. You will create a virtual page that is 1/4 the size of your page, and place your variable data on it. Then, the N-Up object will call the virtual page, and in the N-Up Options properties, you will set the horizontal and vertical repeats to 2, resulting in a total of 4 cards.

Now, to arrange the data properly for this, you will need to download the "Sort for n-Up and Telescoping" plugin for PlanetPress Watch. This mean you need Watch to use the plugin. You can download this plugin here:
http://www.objectiflune.com/download/pwplugins.aspx

Once you download it, put it in \Program Files\Common Files\Objectif Lune\PlanetPress Suite 5\Plugins, then stop Watch and the configurator tool, and reopen it, and you will now be able to use the plugin. Right click on the place you want to add the sorting, and go to Insert->Action->Telescoping Sort, and you will now be able to use the plugin.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Rapha

Hello,

I don't know what type of data file you have but at this point, I would suggest the "N-up" object.

- Add a virtual page to your document
- Under paper handling of the said page use "Custom paper size" with your card value.
- Populate the page with one entry (like address block)

- Now under your "normal" page add the "N-up" object
- From the N-up option select your virtual page "Page to execute N-up"
- Adjust the
