Hi,

We will need to validate the data stream to see if we can work with it. Please click on "Report and Issue" and upload your data and someone will contact you.
Specify that you want to have the data stream validate and mention my name (Cosimo) in your request.

Thanks
Cosimo

I was searching for something in the forum, and happened upon your question.

I'm an AFP/IPDS guru (at least in my own mind), and I have to tell you that the answer to your query is "no" if you are using PlanetPress on a Windows system. IPDS is not a "readable" type of data that PlanetPress would understand (on the iSeries or any platform).

For the iSeries (OS/400), I would recommend that you use SCS as your datatype instead. Usually, you can specify SCS when moving data from your spool. It may require a Host Print Transform object to convert EBCDIC to ASCII for use in your Windows-based PlanetPress Design Tool. And you may run into a few other "gotchas", but that is the place to start.

Best regards,

Hi,

Bob is correct that IPDS data is not readible in PlanetPress, however in some cases we can use PlanetPress Talk to manipulate your data.

Thanks
Cosimo

Bob thanks big time for your reply.
I found a program that will take ipds and turn it into asci or xml but have not had a chance to try it yet.
Thanks Tony.
