We are running version 5.3.0.2162 of PlanetPress. We had a version 4 form that we imported into version 5. Everything was okay with the form several months. However, we have recently made some changes to the form (added some new overlays and pages, etc.). The document seems to save correctly but when we try to reopen the document with PlanetPress, we get this error message: "Exception EConvertError in module PPress.ext at 000098B2. 'INF' is not a valid floating point value."
If you click ok on the message, the form will open up but not all of the pages and overlays are in the document. PlanetPress only partially loads the document, up to the point where the error occurs.
I have opened the Form.xml in the .PP5 document and searched for "INF". I found it in several places like this: PTOLP="INF". If I replace the "INF" with "1" and save it, I can then open the document with PlanetPress with no errors.

Is there something in the form causing PPress to not save the document correctly?

If you need me to provide a copy of the Form in error, I would be happy to do so.

Thanks,
John Kollman

I was informed that a Patch would be released for this by Monday 14/08. Unfortunately if it has been released im having trouble finding it.

We've discovered the cause of the error/bug but still need a patch for the program to be functional.

I am experiencing the same problem after upgrading the design tool to V5.3.0.2162. What exactly does cause this problem ? Please keep me updated on this topic.

Well, I can only tell you why it appears to be occuring on our end. ObjectIf may have a different reason.

Basically the error is due to evil "tabs" within text box objects.

Something appears to be happening over time where the document cant remember it's tabs and causes the newly saved document to become corrupt and you only find out this has happened when you get the error upon openenig the document.

The way to fix it, for now, is to go into your document you've kept open or the .bak version of the file. Go into every single text box you've made throughout the document and make a change then click "ok". The text box tab settings need to update/verify themselves.

THEN hopefully you can also save without error.

I'm hoping that this is what the patch will rectify as it's not certain that this error might pop up after another few hours or days.

Hello,

"I was informed that a Patch would be released for this by Monday 14/08. Unfortunately if it has been released im having trouble finding it."

I am not sure where (or who) this information came from but I can definitely tell you today is not the release date of the next maintenance version of PlanetPress and we do not have a date for when this will be. However, it is in the very short term (ie, we are in the last steps of the release process).

As for the problem itself, Ra is correct. The issue here is tabs found in some text objects.

Hi dleblanc.

The infomation we received was that the patch was due for release on Saturday 12th to Monday 14th. The reason behind this should be obtainable from the PlanetPress Care Department.

Ah, well, this would appear to be the problem I've reported in the bug reports section. Are there any specific workarounds until this next maintenance release?
