Hi,

we seem to be having some difficulty in drawing a vertical line. A horizontal line is easy as we just click on the Shape icon, select rectangle, draw it. Then edit the properties and change it to a line. This gives us a scalable horizontal line. However, if we do the same, but then rotate it 90 degrees to give us a vertical line, we find it unscalable. We've also tried doing what we used to do with PP3 - draw a box and then hide the sides we don't need...But this doesn't seem to work in PP5? If I draw a box and then go to Borders, when I click an (for instance) the top line, it doesn't hide. Am I doing something wrong?

The only way I've found to do this, is to draw a box and then edit the colours for each side to match the colour of my document background. This will then hide the lines and give me the vertical line I need. Seems a bit of a long way to do things tho?

Thanks,

Neil.

Drawing a box and then hiding the sides you don't want to use does work.

Draw a box, then go to borders. I normally click on 'None', under settings at the bottom to remove all borders, then click on line style and select a solid line, then click on one of the vertical line buttons next to the little box drawing.

(You could also draw a box and then change the width attribute to 0)
