Hello,

Can you please validate the following.

If a PP form is installed on a printer which implies that it will be run in printer centric mode, regardless of which workflow tool you use (Production, Office, Watch), it is necessary to purchase printer license for the printer to enable printing without watermark.

In other words PP Production will only print to any number of unlicensed printers in Optomized PS mode without watermark but not in Printer Centric mode? to print in printer centric mode through production without watermark a printer license is required?

Thanks in advance

Cube,

Indeed, you need to purchase a printer license in order to run a form Printer Centric.

PP Production will allow you to print without watermarks using either Optimized PostScript or "Print Using Windows Driver", but for printer-resident forms, or any types of Printer Centric printing, you need to purchase a printer license.

What happens when you are printing Optimized Postscript and still getting a watermark?

Hi,

Please do a simple test.
If PlanetPress design is on the same machine as Production, create a new document and just add a box on the page.
Then print using Optimized PS. If there is no watermark, then it has something to do with the output in you're workflow.

Please open a Support call and we will need to investigate what you are doing that is influencing this.

Thanks

Got another one on this same idea.

My Watch process has an "Add Document" followed by output to printer. We're running Production server, but this output results in a watermark and no duplexing (though the form calls it)

Manually sending through PlanetPress Worflow Printer Queues results in the correct output. Is "Add Document" printer centric?

"Add Document" will indeed create a printer centric data stream, and will produce watermarks unless you have a license for the printer you're sending the file to.

Instead of using Add Document, just use a Printer Queue Output, and select the .ptk from there. Then, make sure that the .ptk file is set to Optimized PostScript under the printer to which it's associated to(make sure you change it to the .ptk that is associated to the printer queue, NOT just under the Documents list)

Thanks! Now I have to go through and tweak all my processes, but at least I know where I stand.
